Terms and Conditions

The ground rules for working together

Plain-language terms covering quotes, scheduling, warranties, website use and your newsletter subscription — so there are no surprises before, during or after your project.

This is the current published version of this document.

Agreement to these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Cozy Space Guide website and the services we provide. By browsing this website, subscribing to our newsletter, submitting an enquiry or engaging us for work, you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the website or our services. Where a signed project agreement exists between us, that agreement takes precedence over these general terms for that project.

About our services

Cozy Space Guide provides home renovation and improvement services, including home decor and interior work, home exterior and garden renovation, home security, fire safety, home loan and warranty guidance, roofing upgrades, solar upgrades, window replacements, home flooring upgrades and bathroom remodeling services.

Descriptions on this website are for general information and to help you decide whether to talk to us. They do not constitute a binding offer, and the final scope, materials, schedule and price for any project are set out in a written quote or agreement we both sign.

Quotes, estimates and pricing

We prepare quotes based on the information available at the time. If site conditions, measurements, access arrangements or your requirements differ from what was assumed, the price and schedule may need to change — and we will always discuss and document that change with you before proceeding.

Any price ranges shown on this website, if any, are indicative only. Taxes, permits, specialty materials, disposal fees and third-party services may be additional unless expressly included in your written quote.

Scheduling, access and site conditions

You agree to provide reasonable access to your property during agreed working hours, along with water, power and a safe working environment where applicable. Delays caused by access restrictions, concealed site conditions, adverse weather, material availability or third-party trades may shift the schedule, and we will keep you informed as soon as we know of a change.

Where work requires permits, inspections or approvals, we will coordinate these as described in your project agreement.

Your responsibilities

Please make sure the information you give us is accurate and complete, that you are authorised to approve work on the property, and that pets, valuables and fragile items are moved or secured before crews arrive.

Where you supply your own materials or appoint your own trades, we are not responsible for their quality, suitability or delivery, though we will tell you if we foresee a problem.

Changes to scope

Renovation projects often evolve. Any change to the agreed scope, materials or schedule should be confirmed in writing before the related work begins. Variations may affect cost and timing, and we will provide revised pricing for your approval in advance rather than after the fact.

Warranties and workmanship

We stand behind our workmanship and provide a written warranty for the labour we perform, as set out in your project agreement. Manufacturer warranties on products, equipment and materials are provided by their respective makers; we register these where the manufacturer allows and pass the documentation to you.

Warranties do not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, neglect, extreme weather events, alterations by others or failure to follow the maintenance guidance we provide at handover.

Compliance, permits and safety

We aim to work in line with applicable building codes, safety standards and manufacturer instructions. Where your local authority requires permits or inspections, those requirements will be addressed in your project agreement.

Fire safety, security and solar work may require specific equipment standards, labelling or shutdown procedures. We will explain what is being installed and how it operates, and we recommend documenting this for your household and for emergency responders.

Home loan and warranty guidance

Where we help with renovation lending paperwork, financing options or warranty documentation, we do so as a renovation contractor providing practical assistance. We are not a lender, financial adviser or insurer, and any lending decision rests entirely with the finance provider. We encourage you to review all financial documents carefully and seek independent advice where appropriate.

Newsletter and email communication

Subscribing to our newsletter is optional. By subscribing you agree to receive occasional emails containing renovation ideas, maintenance reminders and studio updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or the unsubscribe page on this website, and we will action the request promptly.

Project-related emails, such as quotes, scheduling updates and warranty documents, are separate from marketing email and may continue while you are an active client.

Cancellations and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule agreed work, please tell us as early as you can so that materials and trades can be rearranged. Charges arising from cancellation may apply once a project has been scheduled or materials have been ordered, and any such costs are set out in your project agreement. If we must reschedule, we will offer the earliest practical alternative and keep you informed throughout.

Website use and intellectual property

All content on this website — text, layout, images, graphics and branding — belongs to Cozy Space Guide or is used with permission, and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, republish, sell, scrape or redistribute website content, or use our name or branding in a way that suggests partnership or endorsement, without our prior written consent. Please also do not attempt to interfere with the security or normal operation of this website.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cozy Space Guide is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of this website or from matters outside our reasonable control, including delays caused by weather, suppliers or third parties.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability for any project is limited to the value of the work performed under the relevant written agreement.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Cozy Space Guide against claims, losses or costs arising from information you provide that is inaccurate, from materials or designs you supply, or from your breach of these terms. Similarly, we will indemnify you against claims arising from our own negligent workmanship or breach of our obligations to you.

Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: we collect only what we need, we do not sell your data, and you can unsubscribe or ask us to update your records at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah in the United States, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of that jurisdiction. We would always prefer to resolve a concern through a straightforward conversation first — please contact us before escalating any issue.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version is the one published on this page, and the note at the top confirms it is the current version. Continued use of the website or our services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
